The Fluid Engineering series 545 fabricated duplex strainer line incorporates a unique patented manifold design that allows the inlet and outlet connections to be in-line. This configuration allows for easier piping and installation, especially in an existing piping system. The fabricated design also makes use of tall strainer housings to incorporate longer baskets that increase holding capacity and get longer run times between change-outs. The custom-designed strainer systems incorporates a one-piece manifold and industrial valves. This style duplex configuration allows for a small footprint. These duplex strainers are ideal for applications where the flow cannot be interrupted to remove a basket for cleaning. Continuous flow is maintained by utilizing two separate basket chambers with valves to direct the flow from one housing to the other. This valve changeover can also be automated. The valves in the 545 duplex are not integral, making valve maintenance and replacement a snap.
The strainer housing and valve materials are available in a myriad of materials and configurations to meet the requirements of various applications.
